Reeves County Emergency Service Districts Nos. 1 & 2
We were honored to join Texas-New Mexico Power for their quarterly safety meeting and provide an inside look at The RCESD Dispatch procedures. These meetings reinforce what matters most: inter-agency familiarity, a unified response, and a shared “safety language” when emergencies happen. When we understand each other’s protocols and expectations, we eliminate confusion and work seamlessly to keep our responders, partners, and community safe.During the presentation, we also discussed what the public can expect when calling 9-1-1 and transferred to the ESD. Our dispatchers use nationally recognized Priority Dispatch (EMD/EFD) protocols, which means callers may hear structured, scripted questions. These questions are not delays — they are designed to quickly gather critical information so the right help is sent fast, with the correct resources and pre-arrival instructions when needed. We appreciate TNMP’s commitment to proactive safety and partnership. We don’t just work alongside one another — we protect one another. If your organization, business, or community group would like us to attend a meeting and provide education on Fire and Medical Dispatch and what happens when you call 9-1-1, we would be glad to participate. Please reach out to schedule a presentation.
